A mother said to her son,
darling you are my number one,
don't feel bad,
listen to your dad,
but if he goes,
by those foes,
do not weep,
his soul you shall keep,
so off you go,
kill more than one foe.'
And that's what a kiwi mother said one hundred years ago,
but do not forget,
I promise and bet,
another mother said the same thing to her son,
on the other side of the world,
shedding the same tear one by one.
And off they went to world war one.

Wow Poppy that is such a great poem. Did you make it your self because if you did your really good at writing poems. I think it is a great idea that you did it. Well done.
